Wiskid blast Reekado banks on twitter
Some Nigerians on Twitter have berated star boy Wizkid for bashing his fellow singer, Reekado Banks who attempted to drop a single amidst the #EndSars protest.
Earlier before, drama ensued on the microblogging platform on Thursday between popular Nigerian Singer, Wizkid, and colleague, Reekado Banks.
This started after Reekado took to his handle to announce a midnight release of an ‘old song’ the both of them recorded. He said"Gbedu must drop" as he would be dropping "Omo Olomo" featuring Wizkid in the early hours of Friday. October 16.
Reekado shared a snippet on his Twitter handle with the caption;
Out of control, gbedu must drop. This one with my brother @wizkidayo “OMO OLOMO” midnight dropping. Still on the matter !!! #EndSWAT #EndSARS #EndPoliceBrutality
But it looked like Wizkid felt it wasn’t the right time to release songs due to the state of unrest in the country as is evident in his decision to postpone his highly anticipated album, Made In Lagos.
Wizkid shockingly lashed out at Reekado and told him the timing was not right.
Wizkid wrote;
Delete this dude ! Can’t believe you’re even doing this at a time like this. Old song ! #endsars fool!
Even though the Mavin records star ended his tweet with the trending hashtags against police brutality, Wizkid said it was wrong for him to drop the single amidst the protests.
Wizkid said, "Delete this dude ! Can’t believe you’re even doing this at a time like this. Old song ! #endsars fool!".
In another tweet that has now been deleted, Wizkid addressed his fellow singer as "clout animal".
Reacting, some Twitter users criticised Wizkid for bashing Banks even though they claim to understand that the "Joro" crooner is not pleased with the current situation of the country.
