University of Ibadan has announced resumption date and published approved academic calendar for 2018/2019 and 2020/2021 Session. Read details below:
Authorities of the University of Ibadan (UI) has announced the resumption date for the commencement of academic activities for the 2020/2021 academic session.
The institution will resume on Monday, January 18th January, 2021 for the conclusion of the 2018/2019 academic session. At the completion of the aborted 2018/2019 session by February, there will be a three weeks holiday followed by the resumption of the 2020/2021 session.
The varsity’s academic calendar had earlier been disrupted due to the prolonged strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which started in March 2020 and ended in December.
In its new resolve, the institution said it will not be admitting undergraduate students who intend to gain admission into the school through the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) for 2021/2022.
The 2020/2021 academic session would now begin on 20 February and end on 2 December 2021
UI Approves Academic Calendar for 2018/2019 & 2020/2021
Authorities of the University of Ibadan (UI) has published the approved academic calendar of activities for 1st and 2nd semester, 2018/2019 and 2020/2021 academic session.
In approving the Calendar, Senate noted the prevailing circumstances occasioned by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic and the need to comply with the protocols established for the control of the spread of the pandemic. It, therefore, agreed that the 2020/2021 First Semester lectures will be delivered online.
In this regard, students will not be accommodated on campus.
Senate also approved the cancellation of the 2019/2020 session. The next session is, therefore, renamed 2020/2021Academic Session.
Consequently, students who have been admitted for the 2019/2020 session will now be regarded as the 2020/2021 intakes.
Kindly note that online opening of Registration Portal and Orientation Programme for the 2020/2021 intakes may commence ahead of the Sat 20/02/21 date indicated above.
