Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti has conducted Matriculation ceremonies for three different categories of its new students. The ceremonies were conducted for the 2020/2021 Regular degree students of Kwara State Colleges of Education in Ilorin and Oro, in affiliation with Ekiti State University, 2019/2020 Regular, Sandwich & Professional postgraduate students and candidates admitted into the part-time programme of the university’s Directorate of Part Time Programme for the 2019/2020 academic session.

The matriculation ceremonies held at Ilorin and Oro were presided over by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic), Professor Patrick Tedela on behalf of the Vice Chancellor, while the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun presided over the matriculation ceremonies for the postgraduate and part-time students.

Speaking at the ceremonies, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Edward Olanipekun enjoined all the matriculants to be serious with their academic programmes as the university would not condone any act of laziness.

The Vice Chancellor stated that since his assumption of office, he commenced the process of restructuring and re-engineering every facet of the university to ensure that the societal expectations and dreams of the institution’s founding fathers were reasonably realized.

Olanipekun further assured the matriculants that all the challenges hindering the smooth running of the university were being holistically addressed, while institutional factors and policies were being reviewed to ensure that the academic calendar was not truncated unnecessarily.

To this effect, the Vice Chancellor implored the matriculants to fulfill their own part of the process by engaging and interacting with the university through its e-learning facilities to enhance their studies and research activities.

While congratulating the matriculants on their successful admissions into the university, he urged them to abstain from all forms of misconduct that contradict the matriculation oaths.

The university Registrar, Mr Ife Oluwole administered the matriculation oaths on the matriculating students at the events.
