Management is in receipt of the Ministerial directive and the circular with Ref No. NUC/ES/138/Vol.64/178 from the National Universities Commission (NUC) on the closure of all Universities and Inter University Centres during the upcoming 2023 General Elections due to the concerns expressed on the security of Staff, Students and properties of all Institutions from Wednesday, 22 February, 2023 to Tuesday, 14 March, 2023.
Senate at its emergency meeting held on 16 February, 2023 considered and approved the suspension of Academic activities in the University from Wednesday, 22 February, 2023 to Tuesday, 14 March, 2023 in line with the said circular. Subsequently, the Gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections have been rescheduled to hold on Saturday 18th March, 2023.
Accordingly, members of Staff are expected to go about their normal duties as this closure does not apply to them.
Further to this development, Students are now expected to return to Campus on Sunday, 19th March, 2023.
Lectures would however, resume on Monday, 20th March, 2023.
