Afanla’s appointment, round peg in a round hole, says Unilorin SSANU
The leadership of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, University of Ilorin Branch, has described the appointment of Secretary of the institution’s Postgraduate School, Mr. Mansur Adeleke Alfanla as Registrar-designate as a round peg in a round hole.
A congratulatory message signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO), SSANU, UNILORIN, Com. 'Segun Alabi and made available to the UNILORIN Bulletin, says the Registrar-designate is a tested and trusted individual both at work and at the level of SSANU.
The statement says SSANU particularly shares in his joy because Barrister Alfanla is an astute administrator who has proven himself to possess high morals and ethics; displays passion for the organization’s mission and vision; a leader, a motivator and a team builder who always strive for high quality work. He is a high-level decision maker who always displays advanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills; an active listener with strong communication abilities.
It says the union strongly believe that with his wealth of experience as an administrator of repute of over three decades; a dab hand unionist (at both the local and national levels), and a Governing Council Member of the University, he would consolidate on the achievements of his predecessors and meet with the yearnings of staff members.
While beseeching the Almighty to guide, guard and grant him all that is required to be successful, the leadership of SSANU on behalf of the entire members, heartily congratulate Comrade (Barrister) Mansur Adeleke Alfanla on his appointment as the 7th Registrar of the University of Ilorin.
Alfanla who joined the services of the University of Ilorin in 1998 as an Administrative Assistant rose through the ranks to attain the peak of his administrative career.
Comrade Alfanla, a unionist per excellence meritoriously served as a former Branch Secretary of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities, SSANU, Unilorin Branch (2005-2008); Branch Chairman (2008-2015) and National Treasurer, SSANU (2015-2020).
