After a successful resource verification conducted in December 2022 for three programmes in the College of Health Sciences: Pharmacology, Medical Laboratory Science and Nursing Science, the Council of Nursing and Midwifery insisted on conducting resource verification before students can be admitted into the Nursing programme. This was done 7 – 9th January, 2023.
With the release of the result, JAMB needed to be notified to allow the institution load the approved quota of fifty (50) on CAPS.
As the process was delaying, the University offered provisional admission pending the opportunity to load these candidates on CAPS. The approval by JAMB came last week.
Note:
The institution can only load 50 candidates on CAPS based on the approval given.
Thus, fifty students were loaded on Nursing JAMB CAPS, while loading the rest on other programmes within the College. These latter students are still nursing students as indicated by their PAAU admission letters.
However, to retain studentship, these students must accept proposed JAMB admission on their CAPS, which they can afterwards process via admission regularization to obtain new admission letters indicating Nursing Science.
Your admission into Nursing Science is valid and authentic as long as you have JAMB admission letter to back up your admission.
The Nursing and Midwifery Council conduct their certification examination twice a year, which should allow the institution to forward two batches of 50 each for each certification examination, making a total of 100 candidates. Thus, you are not in anyway at risk of losing your admission, except where you do not meet the academic requirements of your programme.
