In a remarkable act of generosity, the management of the University of Ilorin has taken delivery of a substantial donation of books worth millions of Naira from @UniofBath, United Kingdom.
The donation was facilitated by a former student and a friend of the university, Dr Teslim Bukoye, who is now an elected member of Academic Assembly on Senate to the Council of the @uniofbath.
Performing the official presentation of the book this Thursday, at the Technical Service Division of the University of Ilorin Main Library, the Vice Chancellor, Prof Wahab Olasupo Egbewole SAN, thanked the facilitator of the books, Dr Teslim Bukoye and the University of Bath for the magnanimous donate
Represented by the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Management Services, Prof. Sulyman Ambali, the Vice Chancellor expressed emphasized the University of Ilorin’s intention to strengthen its relationship with the University of Bath, which could potentially involve staff development programmes.
Acknowledging the contributions of the University Librarian and the entire library staff, Prof. Egbewole encouraged them to inform the relevant faculties and departments about the new collections in order to enhance the quality of learning and research at the institution.
Earlier in a remark, the University Librarian, Dr. Kamaldeen Omopupa, expressed his enthusiasm about the potential benefits the donated books will bring to specific faculties within the institution.
