Ayandele Peace of Medical Laboratory Science, MLS and Covenant Olorunyomi of Medicine and Surgery, MBBS represented University of Ilorin in the Debate Competition.
The competition took place at the Covenant Place Igamu Lagos. It has many representatives from schools which include; University of Ilorin, University of Lagos, University of Benin, University of Ibadan, ATBU, Obafemi Awolowo University, others.
The announcement was made during the debate’s grand finale held during the 2023 edition of The Platform Nigeria.
The UNILORIN Team, Peace and Convenant came up winner of the Debate, while the University of Ibadan which was represented by Yusuf Aisha and Abdul Akorede came as second and University of Lagos which was represented by Eniola Oni and Enem-Obong Ikpe came up as third in the Debate.
A-MEDIA UPDATE gathered the winner , University of Ilorin got Two million, five hundred thousands, as University of Ibadan, the first runner-up, and the University of Lagos, the second runner-up went home with one million, five hundred thousand naira and one million naira respectively.
The Inter-University debate was initiated as a platform for holistic support to harness the voices of young people toward national development and provide capacity building to selected young people across tertiary institutions in Nigeria.
It served as a medium to bring young people together through constructive dialogue to mainstream their voices for the realizations of the #NigeriaWeWant.
The Youth Leadership Debate was supported by the Nigeria Youth Futures Fund (NYFF), a collaborative project of the MacArthur Foundation, and Ford Foundation, FUTURE WORK AFRICA that was implemented by LEAP Africa.
