The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced a new date for the commencement of the registration of the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). It is now rescheduled to begin on February 3, 2025, instead of the initially planned January 31st, 2025, A-Media Update gathered.
This change was made to allow JAMB to implement necessary modifications to its registration processes.
According to the statement released by the Board, the decision was prompted by two main factors. Firstly, the Council for Legal Education directed the suspension of certain law programmes at some universities, which requires updates to JAMB's registration templates. Secondly, JAMB identified that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had obtained approval through misleading methods, necessitating a deeper investigation and potential disapproval of those centres to ensure credibility.
